Silica Glass

Silica glass is a type of glass that consists of SiO2 (silicon dioxide). It contains almost no metal impurities.
A key feature is that it has high optical transmittance over a broad range of wavelength from ultraviolet to infrared rays. Since it does not absorb visible light, it is used for glass fiber, and windows and such.
Moreover, it has high thermal shock resistance, and since the thermal expansion coefficient is low and can withstand, fast heating and fast cooling, it is widely used for physics and chemistry glassware, such as beakers, as well as heat-resistant cookware. As it also has excellent chemical resistance, it is a material often seen in medical and biotechnology labs as reaction tubes or protective tubes.
Our company can apply micro-machining to silica glass to meet customer requests.
